The Badlands of South Dakota provided the subject of this photograph. To the casual spectator, the rock formations of the Badlands, under the harsh glare of the midday sun, can appear almost void of any color. During the early morning and early evening however, wondrous colors emerge from these ancient formations. The setting sun simply causes these rock formations to glow with color.
